Art Party

DD will be six in September and she wants to have an art party. She invites a ton of kids so I think it will be so much cheaper to have it at home. She wants a canvas painting party, but the kids there will mostly be 3-8. Should I have them paint whatever they want or should I hire my friend who does paint nights to paint something specific with the older kids? I was planning on setting out a sand art table and another table (either bracelet making or a craft with those foam stickers) to amuse them also... thanks!!

I think you should hire your friend. Especially for that age. This way there's organization and instruction rather than chaos. The older ones will follow along and you'd be surprised the LO's can too. If not then they can make their own. Plus, your friend usually brings everything anyway. My friend does art parties and I'll see pictures from Whole Foods she does with kids of all different ages. It's a cute idea and a great favor to bring home too.
