How long do shoes usually last you?

I bought a pair of espadrilles in February and I noticed tonight that the wedge is coming apart in one area. I've worn them probably 20 times or so.
Is that normal for them to be trashed already?

It depends. I have shoes that last 5 years and up and others that fall apart in 5 months.
Depends on the workmanship of the shoe and how hard I am on them/how often I wear them

Yeah, I just figured they should AT LEAST last me through the end of the summer. Ehhhh, whatever. I ordered them from Amazon and wrote to them last night complaining and they told me I could return them for a full refund.
I just feel weird doing that since I've worn them.

I've had some for 10 plus years at this point, but I'm very choosy about what brands I buy. The only shoes I replace yearly are ballet flats I wear almost daily from October-May. My flip flops generally last two years, and my uggs generally last 3-4. Ugg slippers are 3-4 also.
