capsule wardrobe
Does anyone do this? I have seem many versions of them. Some have a certain limit of pieces of clothing such as 33. Some are all in one color family. I have been toying around with this because sometimes I feel the more clothing I buy the less I have to wear- if that makes any sense :)
If you have done a capsule wardrobe, did it work for you? Were you less stressed getting ready in the morning for work? Did you feel you were doing laundry constantly?

capsule wardrobe
I'm kinda working towards this.
In the past year anything I've bought has been black, white, navy, gray or blush or burgandy. I've started to invest in some nice, high quality items, but very few of them.
This year, I've bought :
Two sweaters One long sleeve blouse Two t shirts 3 dresses

capsule wardrobe
I know a woman who basically has a work uniform. She buys three pair of the same pants, three of the same shirt and wears it every day of the week, only changing up shoes and jewelry. She says it totally cuts down on her morning routine. And then she wears whatever she wants on the weekend.

That would also cut down on my will to live.
So boring.

This is similar to my goal as well. This winter I'm going to work on getting rid of clothes I don't love and then slowly putting together a capsule wardrobe with what's left.
I'm not allowing myself to buy anything new until 2018.

Right? And there is nothing like the feeling of rocking an outfit you feel amazing in. It really sets the mood for the whole day. But I'm a total clothes horse so.....

ITA! I can't imagine why you would ever want to do that!! I work with someone who basically has her own "work" uniform too, pants, blouse/sweater/turtleneck & Blazer, but the items are different every day! I can't imagine wearing the same exact outfit 5 days in a row!

I agree, I enjoy getting dressed up for work most days. She works in a creative field so she says for her this is a way to cut down on "mental creativity" whatever that means

Re: capsule wardrobe
I'm going to be working on this soon. I have SO MANY clothes and I seem to rotate the same few things.
I'm selling a bunch of my old Betsey Johnson dresses on Poshmark. I love them, I always will, but I'm not going to wear them anymore.
Purge everything and start from square one!

Re: capsule wardrobe
I have been trying to do the konmari method and still have way too many clothes. That said, we have traveled a lot recently and in packing for these trips it really helps me see what my go-to items are, what I actually wear and want to wear and it forms in essence a capsule wardrobe (packing for the subsequent trips was a lot quicker and easier than the first one because of my quasi-capsule wardrobe). Of course once I got home they got mixed in with the rest of my stuff but I think it really helped me realize what my favorite items are
