Closing Up 2nd Fireplace
We are considering closing up a 2nd fireplace that we don't use (we may close the inside and open it up on the outside by the deck).
I'm wondering, for resale value purposes years down the road, are making a huge mistake? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Closing Up 2nd Fireplace
We have 4 fireplaces in the home and one fireplace in the garage. Only one fireplace works. They all can, and the one in the bedroom had a gas hook up but we have no intention on turning any of them on except the one that's in working order. This will not affect selling your home. The market is so strong that if you live in a good neighborhood and your house is decent, it will sell FAST. As a buyer, it didn't bother us at all.
What upset me was one chimney was covered in the kitchen so in order to get the oven I want, we have to remove it. Again, it would not have stopped me from buying this home had I realized ahead of time
