12 YO boy/girl
If you have a 12 YO can you tell me their size and gender?
We are making bags for foster kids and they are in need of bags for 12 YO but my kids have never been in the size they are “supposed” to be, so I want to make sure I buy the correct sizes.
TIA

The sizes can run the gamut from a kids 10/12 to an adult XL. It is such a hard thing to pin point. My cousin just had his bar mitzvah and he is 13. He is 6 foot five inches and 200 lbs. His friends ranged from 4 foot 9 and 80 lbs to him.

This is what I was afraid of. I wish the program was run better and I could pick a few kids and get personal items for them, but they just give an age range, not even specific genders etc. I guess I’ll do 3 different sizes and hope they are all used.

12 YO boy/girl
This is a tough one, I think.
My daughter just turned 13 and usually wears a size 00 bottoms, but that is usually too big on her. She fits into girls 10-12 clothing just fine, except everything is usually way too short (she's pretty tall and is very short waisted with crazy long legs). She wears women's/junior's XS tops, though sometimes she will still choose short sleeved t-shirts from the girl's section in either a large or an extra large. Those usually fit her fine because she is so short waisted, the tops are usually still long enough. As far as undergarments, I'm pretty sure she's a 32A and I still buy her underwear in the children's section (not sure if the bags would include undergarments)...
For reference, my daughter is about 5'6" and 106 pounds with a size 11 shoe. She also hasn't hit puberty yet. And yes, sometimes it looks as ridiculous as it sounds lol... all skinny, awkward legs and arms, with barely any torso. She is also extremely athletic, and swims competitively (and she eats like Michael Phelps lol!) So... not sure if she's actually really a good reference...
Kids this age are all over the map. Some of her friends are literally 8-10" shorter than her... and one of her good friends is at least 2" taller than her still and has told me that she wears a DD bra already.
Are you making random bags, or are they going to be for specific kids? Can you maybe get some ideas of sizing for kids that are most in need from the organization that you are making the bags for?

Re: 12 YO boy/girl
I would go for neutral basics in larger sizes because kids can always grow into them. I think things in Adult small or medium for girls and Adult medium or large for boys. Fwiw, I just had to order shirts for ten year old boys and they were between size 12 kids to 18 kids. My son wears a 14 kids. He has always been two sizes above his age and he is 5 foot two.
