cat scratched 15 month old's face and right under eye
what do we do? She has hit the baby before but just her paw with no claws. Not even sure what caused her to react, but she scratched from her forehead and right underneath her eye to the point where I noticed a little blood under her eye.
Of course my initial thought was that we have to give her away, but I am hoping there is something that can be done before? She is not a nice cat to strangers and hisses at them, but she's very good with us (until today). If Dh was home today, she wouldn't have done that because she's scared of him.

Our cat did this two hours after we brought my son home from the hospital. He was crying and she didn't know what the hell it was. Totally our fault. We were also in a small apartment at the time. My mom wound up taking her in and she's very happy. She bosses the dogs and cat around over there.

Havent been on in a while. Hope things have improved. We had this issue from time to time when my son was a toddler. We just made a point to stay on top of cutting our cats nails. I will tell you that our cat too is not a fan of strangers but now, 8 years later, she is most bonded with my son. Hang in there!
