Immigration
All the ICE raids on law-abiding citizens is frightening.
I am a naturalized citizen, and have been for over 15 years. So is my husbvand.
Each time I read a new story, i get more and more scared that ICE agents will burst into our home and take us away even though we're citizens. I fear they'll find some technicality to get us out. And then I freak out over what would happend to our 7-year-old.
DH keeps on laughing that he doesn't even have a country to go back to.
any other President, any other time, it wouldn't even enter my mind. Today... it keeps me up at night.

Any other time, I would try and convince you that there's nothing to worry about... I can't do that now.
I don't *think* anything will happen to you or your family, since you're naturalized citizens, but I would never guarantee that with the current administration.
You've followed all of the rules, and became a citizen legally, so even the most hateful anti-immigrants I've seen on-line seem OK with people who have gone through the full naturalization process.

Know there are people out here who do not supporting the actions and opinions of the current regime and willing to advocate for people’s rights

I'm thinking i'm just being overly paranoid as everything was done legally way before i was 18, but in the back of my head, i always wonder, who knows?
It makes me nervous because we're here because my dad won the lottery #45 is trying to shut down.
stinger, I know you're pretty involved in politics. This election and our country now is making me want to do SOMETHING to stop this insanity. Any ideas where I can start? I live in Queens.
