DCL ages, wwyd?
Last year my parents generously took the whole family on a Disney Cruise. My girls were 1.5 and 4.5, and the 4.5 dd ate up all the princess stuff - it was amazing! They are offering to take us again, either next summer when the girls are 3.5/6.5 or the following at 4.5/7.5.
I’m inclined to say to wait til they are 4.5 and 7.5 so that the 4.5 yo will fully appreciate it, but I’m a little afraid my older one will have grown out of the princess stuff by then and that she will want to be in the older part of the kids club, and leave her sister alone in the younger part. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom?

I've never been on a cruise, but my girls loved meeting Disney characters at 3.

There really is no older/younger kids club, it's all the same spaces from 3-12. My daughter is 10, and still loves the Disney cruise, and the kid's club. She also still loves the Bibbidi boutique on board.

Right, I know she will love it at 3, I guess just knowing the cost, is it better to wait til she can remember it? Dd1 really remembers the experience from last summer and I don’t think she’d have remembered from 3.5.

We went when DS2 was a month shy of 3 and over a year later, he still remembers it. He brings it up every week or 2, things we did, saw, that he liked. DS1 was 6. They both bring it up so much that we're going again this year.

Memories are tricky. I think my 3 year old would remember, but idk. I'm in a seize the day mood, so I still like the earlier date. Plus, I'm not an advance planner.
What about other vacations? Would this be instead of or in addition to another vacation you really want to take?

Our parents have dvc points, but money is tight for dh and me, so we’d probably be doing poconos or Lancaster or something to that effect whichever year we don’t go on this trip. We’d probaby use my parents’ dvc points to do Disney in a few years, after we save (my parents can only do a cruise and not dw with us due to medical/physical issues).

Re: DCL ages, wwyd?
We have gone with all ages from 9 months through 8 YO, and 3 YO seems to be when they remember. My DD is now 4.5 YO and still talks about going for her bday when she turned 3. My DD was 7 and had a blast with the princesses and wants to go back and she’s almost 8. My DS is 9, and wants to go back, he smiled and loved the characters still at 8.
So I think if this may be the last time you go, wait till your little one is older, but if you will head back in a few years, I’d go earlier!

I think 3.5 is fine!
We went last year when my sons were 7 and just about 5. They didn't stay together in the kids club - One was in the Lab and one was in the Club in the iPad section. We also went with friends with two girls - every time we picked the kids up together - none of them were together.

Re: DCL ages, wwyd?
Thanks everyone. We decided to wait until 4.5 so that dd2 can enjoy the shows more and hopefully make it to the fireworks show on pirate night!
