Sesame place - best time to go
Was thinking of bringing my boys this Spring. Maybe end of April or early May.
BUT - I hear there are a lot of water rides. Is it worth waiting until the weather is warmer say, June to go?
My little guys will be 3 and 1.5.

I think you'll be fine, the only water related thing at that age they could probably do is the kiddie pool area/ count's splash castle but there's other rides there that they can go on.

At those ages, we just did counts castle in the water section. There was a sprinkler area (not sure it's still there) that looked dirty. There is also a shallow pool area we tried once, but the water looked cloudy. I'm pretty sure the girls caught Coxsackie at counts castle, but that can happen in any water park or public pool.
There is a tube slide you could take your 3 year old on and you could probably do the lazy river.
I prefer to go when the water area is closed : )
ETA- the 1.5 year old needs to be able to take 3 independent steps in order to ride the dry rides. And, you'll need another adult with you for rides that seat two because the kids won't be able to ride anything on their own. There really aren't a ton of rides for a 1.5 year old anyway which is surprising, lol. There is a play area, but I've never tried it. So, maybe it is better to have the water option.

I’d go when it’s warm enough to go in the water. Sesame is a small park. In my opinion, it is not worth driving from LI for just the dry rides.

Agreed. Especially at that age. The 1.5 y/o won't have much to do. I took my 1.5 y/o DD last summer and she literally rode the carousel and hung out in the pool. There was nothing else for her.
On another note, we went to splish splash also that summer and were pleasantly surprised with how great the kiddie area was. They even had a little water slide we could go down with her- she LOVED it.

I agree. There's a lazy river, which is a nice and relaxing ride for the younger one. We went when DD was a little over a year. There was plenty of rides for her to go on, but she was scared of most of them. She did like the water stuff, though.

I think there's plenty to do without the water at their ages. As long as the 1.5yo is walking he can do most of the rides. Add the parade, a show or character meal and you'll have plenty.

We went in October and loved it. DS was 15 months old. The water rides were closed, but because it was Halloween season they had plenty to do. The weather was perfect.

Re: Sesame place - best time to go
I honestly think Sesame place is better for kids a bit older. I have friends and family who took kids very young, BUT I was disappointed with their water area. I thought the dry rides were typical and Adventureland offered more. It was very crowded. Lines for a ride took 20-30 minutes. No fun there. The parade was the best part. The people were downright rude. We went once and will never go back. Maybe go during an “off” time like Halloween. That sounds like fun. Or a non weekend.

Sesame place - best time to go
We’ve gone the 2nd weekend in June for the past 2 years and it’s been great. There’s usually a groupon good until the end of June that comes out around April.
Also, my kids are almost 4 and 2.5 and we’ve gone since the baby was 9 months old. Definitely worth it IMO. We have season passes too! My little one is unable to walk or sit up due to her cerebral palsy but last time we brought her on rides without a problem. I definitely saw non walkers go on several.
