Darker color in small bathroom?
Am bored with my beige bathroom and want to do a deep blue (not as dark as navy). We have white beadboard on the lower half of the walls which I'd touch up in the same color. Vanity is dark wood which I am going to paint a lighter neutral. Floor & shower tile are an oatmealy color.
It's a small-ish room. Is deep blue too dark?

I did this and it looked awesome. My MIL thought I was nuts when I picked out the color, but we had so much white in the bathroom (beadboard, tiles, toilet, vanity, etc.) that it really balanced it out. I think it actually made the room look bigger.

I don't believe in the "darker colors make a room look smaller" concept. I think if you like the color, go for it! If the room is 10x12, it's 10x12 whether the walls are pure white, or pure black...
I have several rooms with darker colors in my house. I like the look of darker colors.

Re: Darker color in small bathroom?
I did a dark grey with blueish tint in my 1/2 bath and I LOVE the combo. We did a lighter grey tile for the floor and 1/2 the wall.

Darker color in small bathroom?
We did an orange in a small 1/2 bath kind of a rusty color and love it, also with white beadboard

What color did you use.

We have a small guest bath with most of the same colors. Beige tile and shower, dark wood vanity, white beadboard, but light/medium blue paint. I would love to switch it out with a darker blue. I think it would look great.

I feel like it looks a little darker than it shows on the screen. If you find it in the paint samples at Home Depot, I'm pretty sure it's a little darker.

I agree with GoldenRod! I have a small coop bathroom and have a deep tan/brown on walls and it looks great! Doesn't make it any smaller than it is.

i think that would look nice, except i would not paint the beadboard in the same color. I would keep it white and only do the top half in the deep blue
ETA: Maybe I didn't read this right. when you said "touch up in the same color" did you mean touch it up in the same white color? lol... if so, then I think that would look great!Image Attachment(s):

Re: Darker color in small bathroom?
I think that would look great with the white beadboard. My brother has a very similar color combo in his small bathroom and it looks great!
