Walkthrough
I’m curious, what must a house have in it per NYS law during a final walkthrough. For example, smoke detectors. Is there a link I could read?

I think anything written into contract, smoke and carbon detectors, lighting fixtures and the curtain/ blinds, not too sure if there’s anything else!

Re: Walkthrough
By NYS law? Nothing. Your walk through is to make sure that everything that was functional when you signed the contract for your house is still present and functional. If anything additional was written into the rider, then you can check that, too. So you check major appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, CAC or window units), heating/cooling systems, toilets and sinks run and flush, etc.
Smoke detectors are building codes, not law. And you would just be responsible for your own.
