Storing china when you don't use it often (or at all)

I inherited my mom's china- she didn't really specifically leave it to me but my DD wants it. I have china I like and have no dining room anyway. There are 12 full settings plus many serving pieces. I saw quilted containers but I want it more protected. Any ideas? We have a storage space where I think it will be pretty safe but I want sturdy containers.

I use the quilted cases and put all of that into a large rubbermaid storage bin.
I use basket coffee filters in between the plates to keep them from scratching each other.

You can buy packing boxes and paper and wrap them well. We've been storing our china since last Fall. We had professional movers pack them for us for storage until we can unpack them this summer. That's how they did it.

My good China is in my kitchen cabinets. I use it. I know I will inherit some from my grandmother sooner rather than later. I plan on using it daily. I know it was her passover set, but I want to use it.

Home Depot (and I'm sure other places as well) has these foam pouches or rolls of foam that you could use to wrap the dishes and then store in a rubber maid bin

This is what I did too. The quilted cases actually come with protective layers for in between each plate/bowl/serving dishes etc.
