Wow - that's a long time to be together to split up!
What a weird statement to put out:
“Our family always has been — and still is — a well-built car,” Paulina wrote in an Instagram post. “When the four of us are together, we can go wherever the road takes us. But as a bicycle, my husband and I no longer pedal in unison. So we’re ditching the bicycle.”

I like the statement actually, they love the family they built but as a couple they are out of sync, makes sense to me

Aww. I used to see them all the time because they lived around the corner from one of the schools I went to. They were really sweet together. I like the statement. Hell of a lot more sense than GOOP’s “conscious uncoupling”

The statement makes a lot of sense. He had kids before Paulina, and two with her, so they've always been parents. Now that all of the kids are adults, their dynamic has changed.
Plus, the Cars reference I'm sure was intentional...

I like the statement. I like the cars reference.
I always thought they would be one couple that stayed together. However, you start to realize that so many people just split up. I hope they both can move on soundly from this.
