No Linen Closet
DH & I just bought a new house!! it really is my dream house but it doesn't have a linen closet. Where do you store your towels and such? I was thinking of getting a hutch type thing to put in the spare bedroom. Any other ideas/suggestions? I don't think we have room to put something freestanding in the hallway.

Re: No Linen Closet
Do you have any spare bedrooms that you can use a closet from? Like maybe put in some kind of closet system with shelves for the linens?

That's what we do, use the guest room closet as a linen closet.

Re: No Linen Closet
Can you hang a towel shelf in the bathroom?
What about freestanding shelf in the bathroom?
Another option is an under bed box in extra room.

Re: No Linen Closet
In our old house our upstairs bath didn’t have a linen closet. I bought a freestanding one at bed bath and put it in the corner of the hall just outside the bathroom

Re: No Linen Closet
Thanks for the suggestions! I will probably either use an extra bedroom closet or get a free standing one and put it in one of the bedrooms.

No Linen Closet
Any room in the bathroom to built some sort of closet in there? We had space in our downstairs bathroom to do this ikea shelving thing that fits all of our towels, soap, extra TP, etc.

No, the bathroom is a decent size but it has a tub on one side and a shower stall on the other. I can probably add a shelf to add a couple of towels but not room enough for storage.
I think I just need to get back into the house and measure and really look at everything.

Re: No Linen Closet
Build one! I love closets of all types. We built a huge pantry in our first house, and now we're building 2 in our second house! Linen closets don't need a lot of real estate in your house, so see if you have a nook somewhere to build one.

Re: No Linen Closet
Could you put open shelves over the toilet and place towels in a basket on the shelf? You could keep the bed sheets inside of a drawer for each room they belong to.

Re: No Linen Closet
Same situation here!! I bought one of those slanted shelf ladder things that sit up against the wall at homegoods. $180. 3 shelves,a drawer, and a cabinet on the bottom.
