Re: 13 Reasons Season 2
DH and I finished it. The bathroom scene horrified me, this doesn’t actually happen in real life right? I wasn’t exactly the nicest girl in high school, and now as an adult I cringe at the stupid stuff we did/said, but I have never heard of something like that happening.. and I don’t want to say I understood why the kid ended up doing what he did, but I can see why his mind went there, bc what happened to him was unforgivable. Hopefully this made sense, I was trying not to say anything too direct so I didn’t ruin the ending for everyone else. And I think the ending was also horribly written, I love that they talked him down, but to let him leave, screw that.

Re: 13 Reasons Season 2
I finished and the scene you are talking about above haunts me. I won't add too much so as not to spoil for anyone. I'm pretty sure that does happen, the context I've heard of more was in locker room between athletes.
I have a sister who is a senior in high school so I am aware of the drama but definitely blocked out a lot of my own memories from that time. My oldest DD is only 9 but I'm already worried about what her experiences in high school will be.
Love that you can watch an entire season so quickly although I hate the wait for the next season. I can't imagine what else they can do for a new season of this though.

I just finished last night, and I couldn't believe that scene... still makes me feel sick.

Re: 13 Reasons Season 2
That scene you guys are talking about ... broke my heart. I was definitely scarred after seeing that and wondered about how many people this has happened to
And after that, I didn’t blame him for what his next move was. I knew it was coming by where he was headed through the entire episode
The only thing that really bothers me about this series is how these kids never say anything to anyone. Like speak the F up! Thes every big, real, adult, scary things are happening to teenagers and thy are going about figuring it out themselves? I find myself getting frustrated.
But I do enjoy the show and look forward to next season

I know! I'm still digesting. DS is in 7th grade and soon to be in HS. Is he going to have to face those things? How can I make him feel secure that he can confide on me if (hopefully never) those things happen around him. I wanted to scream to Ty through the scream to speak up. Maybe as parents we need to be looking for more clues? Definitely not a show, IMO, to be watched by anyone under 18

That scene was so hard to watch. But like you said now you can see how a child can be turned into a basketcase shooter. Its so cyclical. :(

Re: 13 Reasons Season 2
OK, how bad is this “scene”?
The one scene in season 1 I had to skip through. If someone could just give me a quick rundown and compare it to the first season and let me know the episode that would be great.

I just finished the season and the scene is in the last episode. It is an extremely disturbing and heart breaking attack one one of the characters. I don’t want to give anything away for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, but you can FM me if you want more details..personally, I found it to be worse than the scene in season 1.

Side note: anyone else think the actress that plays the mom is the worst actress? I hated her on private practice also.

That scene was absolutely horrific. I honestly did not sleep well for a few nights after watching it and I wish I had not seen it.

Although i agree 100% about how hard it was to watch i think it is so important that we did. It illuminates how shooters are usually victims (somehow) prior and it shows 2 sides to the very disturbing story :(

I agree. In Season 1, I really did some self reflection on the stupid and mean things I did in high school and I really was disgusted with myself. Why couldn't I have just been a decent human being? I am not like that at all anymore but I'm sure there are people I went to high school with who still think I'm a first class asshole. It makes me feel awful.
As for this season, I loved seeing the other side of the story. I thought it was really well done but I thought the ending of this season was stupid. You saw that coming a mile away. There were also a lot of unanswered questions for little piddly crap but I found it annoying. I also find Jessica to be a terrible actress and super annoying.

I agree. I feel like the actor playing Tony looks too old to be believable as a high school kid.
