Disneyland transportation and carseats?
Thinking of a super last minute trip to Disneyland. Hoping it's not as hot as Orlando. I would want to take as little as possible because I'll be traveling home alone to get DD back for school. So, I'm thinking we'll just stay onsite and maybe not need car seats. Kids are 21 months, 4, and nearly 6. I already have one CARES harness my youngest can use on the plane.
Please tell me about getting to and from Disneyland. I prefer to use transportation with car seats. I'm thinking I could get a portable booster for my oldest. Not sure if my 4 year old can use those too. If so, I'd just need to hire a van with one car seat.

Disneyland transportation and carseats?
My advice would be to stay off-site because the hotels are cheaper and across the street from the entrance to Disneyland. You won't have to drive, since you can walk. I would also rent a stroller(s) from a stroller company. They will deliver the stroller to the hotel you are staying in and you can leave it there upon check-out.
As far as transportation to and from the airport, I am sure there are transports that have car seats.

I'm sure you can walk from the Disneyland hotels too. But the ones right on Harbor Blvd are a lot cheaper.
Just google "hotels near Disneyland". They are all nice and some have more amenities in regards to pool and splash area than others.
I think we stayed at the Fairfield Inn - Marriott. It was only for one night.

Disneyland transportation and carseats?
The Courtyard is awesome! You will love it!!! We have stayed twice and it's our fav! We have always stayed for free with Marriott points! My kids love the waterpark, and the staff there is super. Housekeeping is great, and the bathroom is awesome for multiple people showering (they have a separate shower in with the toilet area, and a tub/shower in the main area of the bath. Short walk to the park, about 5 minutes to the gates, and it's less of a walk than the actual Disneyland Hotel, which you have to walk through Downtown Disney to get to the parks (or take the monorail...but then you are dropped off in the middle of the park and miss main street).
Be warned that the security bag check gets long at the Harbor Blvd entrance (where you will enter). So I would either get there an hour before park opening, or wait until after the park opens. I would also avoid the park that has "Magic Morning", as it tends to be more crowded ( you can find that on the DL hours calendar).
I also post this a lot, but check out Disneyland Daily on Facebook or the web, she is awesome and has tons of tips!!

Oh, and I completely neglected to answer the question LOL. We always take the Disneyland Resort Express bus from the airport. It's like the Magical Express in that you don't do carseats. No one is ever on it, and it's pretty cheap. Going back this last time, we took an Uber since we had an early flight to yellowstone. If you aren't comfy with no carseats, check out Lansky....Disneyland Daily highly recommends them, and they will bring carseats

I looked at the courtyard. I just wish they didn't have the bunk beds in every room. My toddler is a climber and it could be a problem keeping her off it.

My other recommendation would be the Howard Johnson. It's next door to the Courtyard (across the side street), so a little further walk. I saw their renovated rooms on Facebook recently, and they also have a waterpark. I would have totally stayed there, love the throwback theme of it, but we had points to stay free.
Another good one up the road a bit and a longer walk, about 15 minutes, is the Residence Inn Convention Center on Katella and Harbor. They have a few different room styles. It's nice, modern, free breakfast. There is the ART shuttle you could take also

Thanks. I checked courtyard with points too and it was 50k a night. I'm sure I don't have enough for a week even with my Marriot Visa. I used to save my points to buy back gold status each year, but now that's not an option :(
Do you go to Universal Hollywood too ? I see that Disneyland only sells a 5 day pass, so if we go 7 days maybe we'll go to Universal.

The point redemption rate just went up on the 18th since the Starwood and Marriott merger...don't even get me started on that whole disaster and increase of categories and points. But, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin are now covered under Marriott points as an FYI (resort fee is high). The Courtyard used to be 35K points a night the first time we went in 2017. Then went up to 45K a night earlier this year, and is now 50k. It's still the 5th night free when you book on points though. We are lifetime Platinum Premier, and accumulate a ton of points from business travel, fortunately!
We have never ventured outside of Disneyland! Universal looks fun there though!

Nice. I'll look at those for the Orlando trip I need to start planning. I started collecting points for a while, but after I had DD1, I wasn't doing it and lost a bunch of points in programs that expire like Sheraton.
We aren't doing the Cali trip. I just kept thinking of the long flight (I hate flying even without kids) and we would have had to try and get our seats moved day of travel to sit together on a non-stop. We're just doing staycation and maybe a short trip
