Re: Stowe,VT
I haven't done Stowe in the fall, but we visited during January and it was amazing! We stayed at the Green Mountain Inn, which I loved because of the location. We stayed in the Manchester House in one of the King Luxury rooms and it was just beautiful. It's super cute and right on main Street. Shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. But if we ever go back we plan to stay at Edson Hill in one of their King Guest House rooms. If for nothing else, go have dinner and drinks at Edson Hill. You won't be disappointed! It's the single most romantic place I've ever stepped foot in!
We loved Harrison's for dinner also. It was practically right across from the Green Mountain Inn and the food and drinks were excellent. We did a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow at the Trapp Lodge. In the fall months I think they do horse drawn carriage rides instead of the sleigh.
There are a few breweries in Stowe if you guys are into that. Idle Time is one, there's one up at the Trapp Lodge, and there's another right on Main Street a little ways down from Harrisons. We also got a couple's massage, which was very nice. And close by is the Ben & Jerry's factory and the Cold Hollow Cider Mill.
A few things that we didn't get to do because of the time of year we went: Corn mazes, the gondola skyride at Stowe Mountain, and a hot air balloon ride.
Have fun! Stowe is absolutely beautiful and we're dying to go back.
