Disney and Universal trip

Those that have done both in one trip - which did you do first? Is there a better one to do first or last?

We have been to Disney a few times already so I think that may be the more "laid back" part - just bc we have done it already?

Thanks!

I did the one I thought they would like better second. For us, that was Disney because my children are younger and still can't do a lot at Universal.

Probably depends on age.

With young kids, we do Disney first so that it’s out of their system. They get the whole Mickey thing out and can do everything so get exhausted.

Universal is different. It’s a bit more shows for the younger set and more action rides and Harry Potter for the older set. We also stay at Universal preferably (even for the full trip), so it’s more relaxed to get there and do that. We are waiting until my youngest is taller to do it again. Went once with a kid who was short and it was hard...

Re: Disney and Universal trip

I think a lot depends on where you are staying. If you're staying outside of both properties you could mix it up. Usually my family does that.

Day 1: Hollywood Studios
Day 2: Universal
Day 3: Islands
Day 4: Magic Kingdom
Day 5: Epcot
Day 6: Universal and Islands again

This way it's a good mix of Mickey and HP. But if you want a true divide I'd save the best for last.

We are planning on mixing it up for our upcoming trip.

Day 1 - Universal
Day 2 - Universal
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - Rest
Day 5 - Hollywood Studios
Day 6 - Animal Kingdom

ETA - had to change the plans due to lack of past passes.
