Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
Teresa Giudice’s husband, Joe Giudice, has been ordered to be deported to his native Italy, Radar Online Opens a New Window. reports.
“Based upon the law, I find you deportable and ineligible for any kind of relief,” Judge John Ellington said during a hearing at Pennsylvania’s York Immigration Court on Wednesday, October 10, according to the website. “Mr. Giudice, no matter how this turns out, I wish you the best. I decided this case as a matter of law.”
Joe, who appeared via teleconference and can file an appeal by November 9, reportedly sounded shocked as he responded, “I don’t understand how I can be deported on this case. If you will, I’ll tell you my side. I shouldn’t even be here right now. I have to go back and tell my kids this, and they’ve been waiting to hear from me.”

I didn't follow his case close enough to know - but I'm guessing he isn't a U.S. Citizen? If he isn't, the law is the law. Break the law, get deported.

Moved here when he was 1. Never applied for citizenship (although his parents and siblings did). Ciao!

Wow so he lived here nearly all of his life and never applied for citizenship? I guess law is the law... I just feel bad for his daughters.

Yeah he was too busy committing fraud and stealing to bother with such a technicality as applying for citizenship. Bye bye trash!!

Isn't that something your parents would do for you if you came here at 1 year old? I don't know how becoming a citizen works to be honest. I feel bad for his kids, innocent victims in all of this.

Re: Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
I got sucked in to a RHONJ marathon yesterday. I never watched it before.
The husband is a jerk. The way he twisted everything to have Theresa and her brother pit against each other and their families. I know what I watched was years ago. But I am not feeling sorry for him.

That marriage will be over.
It apparently already is. My friend was at a Real Housewives Meet and Greet and Teresa mistakenly said something like "Maybe my next cookbook will be for Mexican food, I'll date a Mexican guy and get tips" and then she caught herself about "dating" and changed the subject. Who knows though...

His parents didn’t do it until much later. If he had been under the age of 21 when his parents became citizens he would have automatically been given citizenship too. But he was over 21 when his and citizens.

I don’t get it though Will he be deported and a free man in Italy? Or he has to finish his sentence in the US and then go?

Once he finishes his sentence in the US he’ll be deported to Italy. He’ll be free in Italy.

Re: Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
Of course he should be punished for what he did, but I feel bad for his children. If they don't move to Italy, he would never be allowed back into the US to visit them. I believe that's harsh considering he's been here basically his entire life.
I read that if they pleaded differently - with him taking a longer prison sentence, but Theresa taking more of the blame, too, then he would not have had the same $10k+ felony that basically requires him to be deported. Guess all their money didn't hire the right lawyers.

Re: Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
I feel bad for the kids too. They didn’t ask for any of this. But he’s stupid. He had his whole life to become a citizen and chose not to. And then chose to break the law (god knows how many times he wasn’t caught)
If his kids want to see him, they’ll have to visit him in Italy and maybe they can apply for dual citizenship.
This is all on him. He should have thought about the consequences. Thought he was untouchable. NOPE. BUH BYE

Re: Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
It’s very expensive and difficult to get citizenship in the US. Getting dual citizenship depends on the country.
I’m thinking about giving up my US passport. I cannot get dual citizenship. However, I have to pay a bit to get my citizenship removed. It costs like +$400 to get rid of it.
I suspect he never did it because of the paperwork.
I feel bad for his family, but I can’t blame him. Families shouldn’t be separated like this.

Law n.91 of February 5, 1992 states that the male or female (foreign or stateless) spouse of an Italian citizen may apply for Italian citizenship after he/she has legally resided in Italy for at least six months, or after three years from the date of marriage if he/she resides abroad.

I wonder if her record and jail time would factor into whether or not she's allowed to apply for Italian citizenship.

Re: Teresa Giudice’S husband ordered to be deported back to Italy
If he really did drive drunk here on our roads in addition to everything else....why should any of us or our kids have our lives put at risk by the selfishness of a criminal who can be deported?
I know plenty of people whos lives were devastated by drunken drivers, and they wish that something had kept them off the roads where their loved ones were.
There are no second chances once you take a life like that; they are gone forever. His children should be ashamed of that if they are not ashamed of the alleged fraud/theft.
