Dermatologist recommendation

For female hair loss/thinning? I know any derm can Deal with this but was wondering if anyone went to one specifically for this and they were successful in diagnosis & treatment. I don’t want to be handed a shampoo I have to use the rest of my life and that’s it. I’d like testing (blood and physical) to see if there’s a cause and then go from There.

West Islip, bayshore, Babylon preferred but will go anywhere on the island for a really good one. Everyone by me goes to mirawalla and I wasn’t a fan when I went for a full body check a couple years ago. Got the PA and she was done in 5 minutes and gone. Unless I ask for a specific dr there? If you have a name - please let me know.

I go to Laserderm/Dr. Serure in Smithtown. I have only seen her once, she was great, but I have seen all of her PA's at some point and they are all really great.

No recommendation, but I would probably also see an endocrinologist to make sure your hormone levels are ok. Good luck!

Dermatologist recommendation

I saw Dr. Kruter at the Mariwalla practice and I definitely liked her. I plan to go back for a full body check but she spent almost 5 minutes doing just a quick check even though I went in for one specific spot. Although i will make sure to schedule with her specifically after hearing your experience.

If you’re still looking, try Dr Skylar/Melman at Center for Aesthetic Dermatology in Woodbury. They were recently looking for hair loss patients for research/clinical trial.
