recommend your kitchen/bath contractor
we're doing a cash out refinance and looking to do the kitchen and 1st floor bath. We are looking for a good contractor that is NOT super expensive. We want white wood cabinets, quartz counters, tile floors and a nice tile backsplash but we don't want to be paying more then 35k for both the kitchen and bathroom. We're keeping our appliances and not moving any plumbing around, but we do want to open up one of the walls in the kitchen. No beams, just want to do some sort of cutout or something to open the space up a bit
Anyone that does a good job but doesn't charge an arm and a leg?

That sounds like a lot of work for all you want to do. A bathroom (assuming it's a full bathroom) will easily run $10-15k and that only leaves $20-25k for an entire kitchen plus removal of a wall and reinforcement. Maybe just do one project now and save for the second?
In any event, where are you located? I've used a lot of contractors recently!

no reinforcement necessary for a wall cutout, but we nixed the bathroom reno for now because we have some other things that could use an upgrade, like our hot water heater and a few windows. We have also decided will just be doing all IKEA to keep costs down. We should be finished with the cash out refinance by May (they said abt 60 days), and another IKEA kitchen event should pop up sometime around June. My neighbor and a few others in her circle of friends all used the same guy to do their IKEA kitchens and they look amazing.
Still trying to do the kitchen for around 20-25k though.
