Thoughts.

If you were told that your 20-something, heterosexual male relative went to a t!tty bar with his buddies. What would you think?

Help settle a small family "tiff." lol

I wouldn't think a damn thing and wonder why we were even talking about it? And I would say as much to my family.

And why does it matter that he is heterosexual?Chat Icon

Re: Strip bar

I’m so confused

Is he married? Is that the issue?

Strip bar

nope. not married. twenty-something who pays his own bills and lives on his own.

the reactions i'm getting from you ladies just proves my case.
i was starting to wonder if i was bonkers.
people in the family are having a fit about the fact that a young man in the family went out with his buddies to a strip bar and spent a couple of hundred dollars.
he didn't borrow the money to go. he's not borrowing money to pay for what he did. his going will not affect his ability to pay any of his living expenses.

there is nothing wrong with this. oy.

old-fashioned relatives... not even old... just old-fashioned, they are too funny.

thanks for confirming that i'm not bonkers lol

Re: Strip bar

He is 20 something guy. I would find it weird if a man of that age had never been to a titty bar at some point. If it was a habit, maaaaby it could be an issue, otherwise MYOB. I keep my mind out of other people's private relationships and find myself much happier that way.

Re: Strip bar

This is ridiculous and as this generation calls #PETTY lol.

ETA: only us old people call it "Titty Bars". And I stopped saying that lol.

Re: Strip bar

Like someone said, I would find it a problem if he did it all the time and spent a lot of money on it— to the point of him losing all his savings.

I wouldn’t really care. Hell, I went to strip clubs with guy and girl friends at that age.

I remember my ex said he never had been to one, so we went to one on vacation in Japan. Ex said he hated it. I was all ready to get him a lap dance, too.

If he did it regularly or was asking for money/not working, or was having trouble paying bills, or had small kids at home (their needs deserve the money he blew more than the stripper, lol) then I can see the problem.
He had a fun night out. He's young!

Listen, I get old fashioned values. I appreciate where they are coming from. But they have to let this one go. Hopefully he doesn't get ostracized for this.

Re: Strip bar

Whatever.
That's his business and no one else's.

I personally find them demeaning towards women, but again, whatever, it is no one's business.

This, though I’ve never been to one. Perhaps if his life savings were being blown someone night step in and say something but otherwise this is his business and only his business.

My DH also hates them and finds them trashy. He complains whenever one is part of a bachelor party.

Strip bar

I work with a bunch of grown men who are married and/or in relationships go to the strip club because apparently a "client" likes to go there... At least that's what they tell the coworkers and theirs spouses...

LOL

LOL yeah we have a lot of "clients" in my industry too who seem to enjoy the strip clubs.

IMO these girls are there for one reason...money.
And these dumb men give it to them for a few minutes of attention.

It's a racket if you ask me and these girls are geniuses.
I don't think they demean women- these women are laughing all the way to the bank with what they make in a night off desperate, silly men who just easily part with their money because a young girl shows them their breasts.

I remember watching on HBO... It was one of those adult programming shows... Maybe the real sex series??? And most of the strippers they showed were lesbians. I thought that was pretty interesting.

The only thing I think is weird is a group of people getting so worked up over something that has absolutely nothing to do with them.
