a different spin on the "what to give"... crafting
looks like there are a bazillion pregnant women in my family. for about 99% of them, i'm buying off the registry and calling it a day.
SO's daughter will be getting a handmade gift. i'm thinking of a crochet blanket and matching hat. when i've made these sets in the past, i make them with baby animal faces on the hats.
my question to the peanut gallery.
what baby animal would you like?
in the past, i've done owls, penguins, ladybugs, puppies, kittens.
we still don't know if the baby is a boy or a girl... but i can always add a pink or blue detail at the end.
so, which baby animals are most popular, these days?
i'll be shopping for yarn, this weekend.

I would see what she would like, and what would coordinate.
I would probably do a registry gift as well-something you know she really wants.
I have three kids, and used exactly 2 blankets with each of them.

I had a pumpkin baby hat for my dd who was an autumn baby. I had a frog for my son. As for blankets I used a lot for my fall baby and far less for my summer baby. So it depends when the baby will be born. I would do a registry gift too.

See if you can find out what she likes- some people are super into certain animals. See if she has any favorites

You can check her registry to see if any of the room decor she chose has animals to give you inspiration, but unless she has a phobia of anything, I'm sure whatever you pick will be adorable.
