Danford's in Port Jeff is in a great location. I've never stayed there, but it has a nice bar and restaurant...great place to hang out this time of year.

We stayed at the Stirling Bed and Breakfast in Greenport last month and it was amazing. Ideally located, not too precious and the owner makes a delicious breakfast.

Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport is amazing!! And it comes with all of these free wine tasting passes from like 6 or more wineries. Delicious breakfast included also.

Other than the few blocks on the water where its nice, it's a run down slum plagued with drugs and crime. But the area near the water is cute...

UPDATE: thank you to all who made rec's!
I ended up in Greenport and enjoyed it. I had my eyes peeled and yes, away from the waterfront seems to be some issues BUT the town is adorable. I stayed at the Silver Sands one night. I LOVE kitchy places like that! Right out of the 50's. My only issue was the bottom of the stand up shower was uh...in need of some attention.
If you don't like old fashioned places this is not the place for you.
I drove to orient point, had never been there either. Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but the only thing to do there is the beach that you have to pay $10 to park? And the ferry to CT is there.
Stopped at farm stands which were a delight.
Ate at Claudio's which was fantastic.
Just enjoyed the beautiful views, FRESH AIR and a general change of scenery did the body good.
I will check out the other rec's on here as well.

Not so much any more. There may be a small part of a street or 2 but it's become quite popular and expensive.

Yeah while I’m sure there are still some parts I have 3 close family friends that live there full time. One family moved back and they are locals (born and raised out there) becauSe it was such a great place to be.
