sick to my stomach... adulting sucks, sometimes
why do we get sick to our stomach when we're working towards a goal we should be accomplishing and one that we really want to meet?
i decided to meet with an attorney and get a new will (and all the other docs) rewritten... since i moved to CA, i want to make sure the state honors my wishes.
this is just repeating to a new attorney stuff i've said before. my child is an adult, it's not like i'm deciding guardianship... so why do i feel sick to my stomach?

Ugh because talking about and planning for our death makes it that much more real. It's something you like to push out of your mind and pretend you are going to live forever. Super depressing

I feel the same way. Work offered a 4 session Retirement seminar, today was the last session and I have a 1 on 1 scheduled in a few minutes.
I want to retire in 7 years and am making sure that my act is together. Been doing pretty well planning all these years, now I feel like I have no idea what to do. I'm kind of nervous about the 1 on 1, like they are going to tell me no way can I retire in 7 years.... My hands are literally shaking that I can't type and my stomach is in knots.
Oh yeah, DH and I have to be grownups and do the Estate Planning part.

I need to get a medical proxy for my SIL prior to leaving the country for my kids. It’s a good thing to have but it makes me feel sick. Same thing when I review mine and dh’s life policies. I hate adulting that way especially since my kids are still so young
Good for your for being a responsible adult. It amazes me how many people I know who are totally unprepared for death or disability. I watched what my mom went through because she stuck her head in the sand and I vowed that I would never do that.

Arghh, the number came in at 9 years, unless I get a bit more aggressive with saving / investing and tweaking my retirement budget. Something to work harder at being more grownup about.

You are pretty grown up already with all the stuff you handle. I still want to make my retirement goal 6/26/26 which is 2,569 days from today. Maybe two weeks less, depends upon what day the annual bonus is paid out
