Cooking bacon in the oven
Does it really work? Does it make a crazy mess?

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
That’s the only way I cook bacon. Put it on some parchment paper and cook away.
The only annoying part is cleaning the sheet pan.
It doesn’t make too much of a mess, but if you clean your oven regularly, then it’s fine.

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
Love it that way. I put the strips on a rack so the fat drips down, line the baking pan with foil for easy clean up. I do save the bacon grease in a mason jar in the fridge for flavoring other stuff, like hash browns or sauteed greens.
Sometimes when I am in a crazy mood, I dredge the bacon slices in brown sugar. Sweet, salty deliciousness, oh my.

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
The easiest, cleanest and BEST way to make bacon. It is the ONLY way I make it!
Line two rimmed baking sheets with foil, lay the bacon in a single layer, place into the cold oven set to 400 degrees and cook until crispy and delish. Usually about 20'ish minutes.
Drain the bacon on paper towels then ball up the foil and toss. So easy!

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
Eh
I’m not a fan. It never gets the way I personally like it that way. To me, in a frying pan is always perfect and then save some bacon grease to cook the eggs In.
Yea the stove is messy, but whatever. Gotta clean it anyway. I’ve actually lined everything around the pan in tin foil (from the $ store) to save myself cleaning time.

This is how I make it but only because I don’t have a microwave.
I prefer it in the microwave. Less greasy.

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
I agree this is the only way I cook it. I put foil down to protect the cookie sheet and then a layer of parchment paper. I sprinkle brown sugar on the bacon and it's DEEELISH!

Me too. I always just make it in the microwave. I also never have time to wait around for the bacon to cook in the oven. I need it fast.

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
I don't eat bacon anymore, but when I did, yes, I cooked it in the oven and thought it came out great!
ETA: I found it way less messy than cooking it on the stove.

Cooking bacon in the oven
I only cooked it in the oven until I got an air fryer. To me it was less messy than frying it on the stove top.

Yep. Won’t do it any other way now. Use parchment paper and put on brolier pan with a rack. Perfect and crispy but not too greasy

Re: Cooking bacon in the oven
The only way I do it. First I line a cookie sheet with foil. Then I put my baking cooling racks on the cookie sheet. They fit perfect. Then I put the bacon on them so that all the fat drains on to the foil. I preheat the oven to 400 and bake for 15-20 mins.

this is how we make our bacon. DS hates the fat and loves his bacon extra crispy, so this is the perfect way to get rid of the fat for him.
