I voted an adult type coloring book...but now i'm thinking you should combine the two. A doodle pad and the colored pencils.
That's actually what my 7 year old is doing as I type this.

I voted something else. Only bc we have sooo many crayons, colored pencils and coloring book type things already. My girls are really into scratch art paper these days.
