Apple picking - windy acres?
Have been to Harbes last few years and love it but I’m looking for something less crowded this year. My son is autistic and can get overstimulated. Also can’t have too much walking as he is physically disabled as well. Has anyone been to windy Acres? Is it more manageable than Harbes? Thanks!!!

Re: Apple picking - windy acres?
never been to harbes. I have only gone to windy acres. didnt go last year I dont remember the walk being too bad. I always go early and its really not that crowded. I also like that they have this wooden type playground for the kids to do after.
only thing is they charge per person even if they dont want to pick. its $10 a person and everyone get a bag i forgot what size they said. For this reason we might change up where we go because it ends up being a lot of apple and a lot of money
if I am incorrect about the above someone please correct me but I think everyone has to pay even if they didnt want to pick

Yes it was our favorite place to pick apples but we are a family of 6 ( I don't need six bags of apples for $60)
We are also looking for alternatives that do not charge per person.

just a heads up I looked and this actually one of the cheapest spot to pick pumpkins. most places charge per person. a couple charge per 10lb bag but only up to 4 people.
I was considering hanks pumpkin town you can do 1 peck for $25 and then pay $5 addition per person if they don't want a bag but its all the way out in water mill and don't think i really want to go out that far!

Re: Apple picking - windy acres?
We just went to Lewin farm this past weekend (also have an son w/ ASD). There's not much stuff for kids besides just going into the apple orchard, but we only wanted to go apple picking anyway. They did charge per person I think it was $8, but then they take it off whatever you end up picking (so, if you only end up picking $6 worth of apples they'd refund you).
