not too long ago i received an email from someone i didn't recognize. no biggie, i get that a lot at work.

when i read the email, it was in spanish. it's a group of people who work for one of my employer's other companies in another part of the world.

looks like there is another person in this email group who has the same first name as me (and since my first name isn't too common), i didn't think too much of it and assumed that it was a one-time issue.

well, weeks later, i'm still receiving emails from these people.

i replied all to have them remove me because i don't work in that country and i work for another company... and i won't be able to help them in their work.

well,

they removed the other lady with my first name and kept me on the email chain. oy!!

I get that too, my last name is a man's first name so that can get picked up easily.

Sometimes our logistics supplier has me on a distribution list for a business that is not mine. That's not good, because then I get to see what our competitors are buying and shipping, and if I'm lucky, at what cost.

The company I used to work for is a huge international company. There was a woman in one of our offices in Tennessee that had my exact same name - but we worked in VERY different fields. Since I started after her, my email address (which included our full names) had a number added into it. She got emails meant for me ALL THE TIME. I felt bad for her
