Working from home with kids
Just curious if your job is expecting you to videoconference even if you have small kids?
My job is expecting me to set up video conference appointments and I am not sure how I am going to manage this with my kids around, not to mention one has special needs which makes things more difficult.... this is going to be rough!

Re: Working from home with kids
No,I disabled my video camera on my laptop because there is no way I'm turning that on.
I don't get dressed or do hair or make up when working from home- no way am I showing my face to anyone. I also have nowhere to work in my house, so I have to work from my bed. Not very professional on a video call to be in bed
You can hear my voice that's all they need. My brains are more important than my looks! LOL

Re: Working from home with kids
Yes but so many people at my company are in the same situation it’s been fine. My team doesn’t have any calls with clients, just internal. We are all trying to be understanding. Many of us are working modified schedules with early/later hours to allow for child care during the day. My company is pretty awesome

My DH just calls in.
I’m teaching online and any videos I make do not have my picture.

Re: Working from home with kids
My husband is on the covid response team for a nationwide vital service company with over 150,000 employees domestic and more international, so he is having daily and sometimes hourly calls. It is not easy. He will now be working seven days a week with 24 hour responsibilities.

Working from home with kids
I’ve had 2-3 hours of zoom calls each day this week. Yesterday I spent a full 5 hours on video calls. DH has had a ton, too.
We have a 4 year old at home. It is truly a nightmare.

Re: Working from home with kids
I’ve got a fourth grader who needs redirection to task cuz he gets distracted
I’ve got a kindergartener who can’t do school work independently cuz he’s 5
And an almost 3 year old who thinks every day is wrestlemania
And I’m doing teletherapy according to my regular work schedule on top of all the attendance, meetings and reports I have to do
Let the games begin
