NY State PUA
So 3 weeks after filing for UI, still nothing. And it still says pending and $0.00 by what I’ll be getting. same for my husband. I’m 1099 And he’s a W2 employee.
So I was looking around on the UI website and saw a forms section. There is a form that can be filled out for PUA and says it’s for people who don’t qualify for UI.
1. I thought that was an automatic thing
2. When the F will I find out if I qualify for UI? By the time I get a rejection letter, we’ll probably all be back to work
3. Anyone know if I SHOULD fill it out just in case I do get a rejection letter for regular UI just so I’m ahead of the game??
I’m going to email our accountant tomorrow and see if he has any advice. I’m also going to call UI tomorrow 700x in the hopes I can get someone on the phone to help with this. Just curious if anyone else saw this and filled it out or are you in the same waiting game boat as us?
P.S. thank GOD I had some savings because it’s been over 3 weeks waiting for anything to come. We’ll be sure to have a lot more savings after this shit. Also thankful for my brother, An essential DSNY employee, who offered $$$ if we run out so we can get our business back up and running if need be.

Did you only do it online as I know I called also for my daughter. She already got 4 payments and it took me a week to get someone on the phone.

I filed online and had to follow up with a phone call. It took a few hours but I did complete my application and was told to file every Sunday after that. And I’ve been. Just waiting and waiting and waiting with zero insight on wtf is going on

Oh wow ok. Mine also has to file every Sunday so there must be something stopping it. Maybe try and call as hard as that is to see what the problem is. Sorry.

You may have filled it out incorrectly. I would try again. Also call a lot. It can take hours. Sorry.

Can you send a link to the PUA form? I’ve been trying to find out how to apply for PUA! They sent a letter saying I’m ineligible for UI...but along with that was a form to reconsider. I faxed & emailed the form to reconsider on Wednesday. It’s been almost 4 weeks & my status is still pending with $0. Dh’s went through right away about 3 weeks ago & he’s been receiving benefits. He’s a W-2.
ETA: never mind, I just filed for PUA (found the form) & it says I’m eligible!

I’m glad you found it and are eligible. I think you filed right before me so I haven’t gotten my denial letter from UI yet. I guess I have to wait for that before I apply for PUA. What an absolute disaster

Pandemic unemployment assistance. It was set up for people/reasons that do not normally qualify for regular unemployment. For example, I freelance & work for multiple employers...& receive 1099s, so I normally would not be eligible.

Got through after a bunch of calls 5 different times. 4min & 38seconds of prompts and got hung up on every time.
One thing it said was “you currently have a valid claim on file” I don’t know what that even means. We’ll see if I get anything in the mail this week. Frustrated is an understatement
