An observation-not even remotely COVID-related
Is it safe to say that there are more former Long Islanders that are regular posters on LIF now than current Long Islanders? It’s interesting how the dynamics of the boards have changed from a recommendation site specifically for LI things to another way for people to connect in addition to social media and not necessarily LI-centric.

Agree! When I joined this site I had just moved NJ from NYC and there were like a handful of us. I migrated over from LIW, I was living in NY during that time.
But now you have people all over who relocated.

I am the opposite, grew up on LI, lived in Jersey for 9 years but found my way on here because I was planning my wedding on LI, then relocated back to LI. I've been back on LI for 14 years.

Yes, most people are moving out because of the expenses. We are looking to move in about 4-5 years.
