Any DOE teachers here?

Is it true Mulgrew said 75% chance schools are remote in September? I can't find that news anywhere, but this is what a friend is claiming he said. My job depends on us going back in the fall. Chat Icon

Hofstra let its teachers know they plan on having in person classes. St. Joes has not made a decision yet.

i'm DOE and never heard that. My principal is still saying there's a ton being floated around. Opening in Jan, split schedules (MWF or Tues/Thurs schedules), etc.

Thank you, that's what I thought. Everyone I know in DOE says that nobody knows anything yet. If the protests don't cause a spike, and our numbers remain stable through the reopening, than I am hopeful we can at least do some type of hybrid situation.

I’m DOE in District 75. We barely know how our summer program will work let alone September. Some of my coworkers thinks we will be remote but honestly that’s just a guess. Don’t listen to anything until an actual decision is made.

My principal has is preparing for a normal in-person opening... she said she has no "inside information", but that is what her gut is saying. I am hopeful she is right.

I heard from a teacher she was told she will remote teaching in September didn’t say how long. She is a teacher on LI and I won’t say where sorry!

I have accepted this already but honestly when it is confirmed I am about to start protesting to get these kids back to school.

Makes no sense to me Because people
Who work are going to have to send thier kids to some kind of daycare situation and then what all these kids can be together for that but not in school. So stupid!

I know you’re worried but you can’t get worked up about every rumor you hear about September. My sister is also a private school teacher and is getting herself crazy about a new rumor every day.
When there is definite, concrete information we will be notified. September is still 3 months away.

I’m DOE and nothing has been set. Many ideas have been floated around. We don’t know anything.

Anyone who says they know what’s happening is just spreading hearsay.

This is exactly what I was saying!!! So I can't go out to eat, schools may be closed, but I can go to Kalahari in a week (where they are not requiring masks in any part of the hotel- makes me want to go hah)!!!

Its so crazy how inconsistent things are between different areas.
