Special education instruction this summer.
Posting momentarily: an Executive Order from @NYGovCuomo allowing necessary in-person special education instruction this summer. Any school district providing these services must follow all state and federal guidance.

My son has had nothing for 3 months now
So frustrating.

I wouldn’t get too excited. It’s a nice order to get people to be quiet. It says they may have it in person if they are willing to and can adhere to certain requirements. It doesn’t mean that they have to or that they will actually be able to. It covers him because he is allowing it but doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

Oh, I hope I can go back into my school. I work in a sped pre-k & I’ve been teaching via zoom all day, since Mar. 23., but my kids really need to have in person instruction.

Cuomo left this up to the discretion of the districts. The executive order says they may provide services...if they follow state and federal guidelines. That needs a lot of clarification. I am a special education teacher and know remote isn't working- but I don't think the districts are prepared to go back for summer programming.
I hope I am wrong......
