Less popular outdoor places
What are some of the less popular outdoor places (beaches, parks, picnic areas, farms, petting zoos, etc.) on the island that tend to draw less crowds so social distancing will be easier? My friend is immunocompromised, but wants to take her kids to places that aren't crowded and I'm trying to help her come up with ideas. Thanks!

Re: Less popular outdoor places
Does her town have any resident only beaches? They are usually much less crowded than public beaches.

Re: Less popular outdoor places
She doesn't have access to private beaches unfortunately. Does anyone have any ideas on where she can go that tends to be less crowded?
Thank you!

Re: Less popular outdoor places
We walked around Bethpage State Park a few weekends ago. There are a lot of hiking trails and we only passed a couple of people on them. Also, the Nassau County Museum of Art grounds are open and you can really spread out. You can view the sculptures on the property, maybe do a picnic. We also walk regularly at Wantagh Park which is huge and you can spread out.
