iCloud PSA!

So today I was looking at a few recent phones and saw ALL OF MY PHOTOS being deleted right before me. I check my iCloud, deleted... gone. I cried. Pictures from my kids birth on there and about 10k photos and videos. Gone, deleted off the cloud even though I pay for monthly storage. Needless to say I died. I called apple and spoke with someone who put me on with a supervisor and then had it escalated to an engineer trying to recover all my photos from a deleted iCloud. So far I got back 1.5 years slowly into my iCloud!
I asked customer service how this could have happened and he had no idea, saying my account could have potentially been hacked. Customer service has been great so far and has been texting back and forth with me. I keep question how this could have happened and when I got a call back later on in the day and was talking to the engineer who is helping me, he said it’s not the first call in recent days about this. So PSA... have an alternate back up! I’m praying I can get back even my kids birth videos that’s all I care about. Many photos I had and was able to save from text messages but not nearly as many as I hoped and nothing from their birth 4 years ago. Praying I have them back tomorrow! They told me there is no guarantee they will be able to restore everything but are going to do their best. I have literally spent the day downloading and saving them I’m so scared to loose what I’ve gotten back so far!

Maybe! I’ll look into it! They were able to get me back about 2 years. No further photos have appeared back. I really am hoping they can get 2017 back. Hoping to get the whole year back... really hoping an outage is the cause and things will be restored
