who has given their home THE or the KonMari treatment?

if you've done it, which method did you do and/or like better?
were you able to go through your entire house?
if not, how far did you get?
did you end up with a bigger mess than when you started?

i have struggled my entire life to be more organized. i have tried a million different things that have never really stuck.

so far, i have organized all my t-shirts and work polos. i'm currently working on my yarn stash... holy cow, i have a lot of yarn lol. this part is going to take a while Chat Icon

I do the konmari clothing purge and I fold everything her way (or close to it)

I’ve used her method for toys too but staying organized is hard because my daughter leaves stuff EVERYWHERE

I did it five years ago. My underwear are still folded using her method. I probably should do it again for myself, but I help my kind use her method for their clothing annually.

Now, I need to say, when I first did my clothing, I cried. It was very emotional for me. But the end was really cathartic. I’ve read all of her books and am on a few of the Facebook groups. I really enjoyed the process. Clothing took a full day for me. I was able to do a lot of the topics quickly. The subject that took me the most time was and is paper.

OMG i don't want to get to paper lol.
that will take me a month of non-stop work lol

now that i'm seeing the progress and it's something i can maintain (so far in the areas i've done), i think i might be able to tackle the paper.

I do konmari sort of but in tiny areas at a time. However, rather than constantly trying to organize i just get rid of as much as possible and then go back and get rid of more. The best way to organize is to have have less stuff.

Yes, yes, yes.

I have a small(er) home and can not deal with clutter. I am constantly purging and organizing but it has become a regular thing that it is not a huge job when needed to be.
