vaccine spinoff - eye makeup... follow my train of thought

in the vaccine thread some of us mentioned keeping masks when in crowds. comments about not wearing lip gloss were made.

this is my question.

am i the only one who is wearing MORE (not a lot, just more than before) eye make up?

it's the only part of my face a lot of people see, so i've spent a little more time on my eyes. i've gotten pretty darn good at my eye brow game (especially since my microblading didn't take).

just wondering

Yes, I only wear make-up to work, not the stores. But I have been applying more and take my time when I do put my eye make-up on. I do not wear any foundation, because it rubs all on my masks.

I know what you mean. I’ve stepped up my eye game. No more foundation or lip color (unless I have a video call) but all eyes. My skin has never looked better, which makes me wonder what’s really in foundation.

I honestly don't wear makeup much anymore unless I am doing something with friends and sometimes if I just want to look more alive lol.
I went out Christmas shopping the other day and knew I would be at a bunch of places and didn't want to look and feel frumpy like I do all week long so I put some eye makeup on.

So true!!! I feel like my skin looks better!

I’ve never been one to do my eyes. I’ma lip girl (i look like a Victorian era girl dying from the plague without my lips) so this has squashed my game but I’m trying with the eyes.

Nope. In regular times, I only wore some blush and lipstick. Now, it's nothing!

Re: vaccine spinoff - eye makeup... follow my train of thought

If I'm going out to dinner or meeting co-workers for our weekly lunch meetings I'm doing my regular makeup routine, including lip gloss because the mask is coming off when we get seated.

Nobody wants to see me without makeup, trust me!
I don't wear a ton or anything heavy like a Kardashian but I am not blessed with the kind of skin that can go without makeup. I wish I was. A light to medium coverage Foundation is an absolute must or it's scary.
I also don't own eyeshadow at all. I wear mascara and I fill my brows but I have never worn eyeshadow. It's just not my thing and I have hooded lids so it wouldn't show up even if I did it

My problem too! I’ve never really learned how to wear eye shadow with hooded lids but I’m trying because I look like a man otherwise, lol

LOL. I look like a man without mascara for sure. It's like a night and day difference when I use a mascara primer then a few coats of mascara. I actually look alive.

I've never heard the term 'hooded lids". Maybe that's what I have too because when I was a teenager, I tried to put on eyeshadow and it always creased into one line. I really haven't ever worn eyeshadow -- just eye liner.

Now I'm going to pay attention to people's eyelids! LOL!

i have hooded lids, too.
i gave up on eye shadow many moons ago.

i just do mascara, eyeliner (sometimes), and fill my eyebrows. now, i'm just doing a better job at it.

I actually have been wearing much less makeup. I still put on bronzer and blush but I've been laying off the foundation and heavy eye makeup. I still put on mascara and do my brows but that's about it...

I can't say that I have but I wear a fair amount of eye make up normally. I am curious what happened with your microblading? I have been interested in doing it but haven't pulled the trigger.

the lady i got it done with used a color that was way too light for me. she "accidentally" forgot to tell me that she was nervous and preferred to go too light, just in case she messed up.

it was user error.

in february, when i'm home recovering from surgery (if i'm not in too much pain), i'll schedule to re-do it at another... more established place.

i know a lot of people who have gotten it done and i'm not letting this hiccup keep me from getting them done. i'm short. i hate hugging taller people because i'm afraid my eye brows will come off on their shirts lol.
