Who was outside today?
Today was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods. I went geocaching today with some Scouts. About 50 degrees and sunny. A bit windy, but a hundred yards into the woods and that wasn't an issue.
This is my idea of the perfect winter day...

Who was outside today?
We ran out to do some errands and I couldn't believe how nice it was. I wish I got to spend more time outside today.

Walked 3 miles playing Pokemon Go. We pretty much play every single day since my son is obsessed.

The wind really put a damper on it.
My DD and her friend went skateboarding but came back super fast saying the wind made it freezing
One thing I can't stand is wind. For me, it makes it uncomfortable to be outside.
Which is a shame because it WAS warmer out today!

One thing I can't stand is wind. For me, it makes it uncomfortable to be outside.
Which is a shame because it WAS warmer out today!

There are so many little parks all around the Island. Those are usually my favorites. In the middle of Suburbia or an Industrial area will be a few dozen acres that very few people know about. Enough that when you're in the park, you can't see civilization, and ideally, can't hear it either. But it's small enough that it's not crowded because not many people know about it. San Souci County Park, Commerdinger County Park, parts of the Greenbelt Trail, Sweetbriar Nature Center.

Who was outside today?
Passed the entrance to one park and it was mobbed. It was the perfect day for an outdoor Christmas get together until the sun went below the trees. Then it got cold.

Hiking is the absolute best!! I had no idea I loved to hike until I moved off the island and now being in nature (specifically the woods) is my FAVORITE thing to do in my free time.

We live right near San Souci...it's great. So weird that such a wooded area is right off Sunrise Hwy!

I actually enjoy it too! Dh and DD can take or leave it so it's always me pushing to go!
I'm too scared to go alone....i know I'd be lost in the woods for sure!

I don't go alone either, luckily DH and the kids enjoy it too. I'm afraid to be out on the trails myself, some are very secluded and it makes me nervous. Better safe than sorry.

Yes, we went for a hike too. It was great. If there was no wind, it would have been perfect. I know we are supposed to be doing our part for the environment but if global warming is bringing us this weather to get us through the next coming months, I'm okay with it for now.

No permit needed and no fee. Park by Old Dock Inn. (In the summer, there is a fee to enter Sunken Meadow, which you can hike to from Kings Park.). It’s a really nice hike.

Saturday was so nice. I live in NJ so went to Cheesequake park with the kids. They have a bunch of trails so of course we decide... hey, let's take the new car. Little did we know the trails were so muddy. LOL!
Oh well... so we got totally lost through these trails and was in there for a couple of hours.
Was fun though. They have stairs and bridges, lots of walks around small lakes, etc.
All was fun till I really had to go to the bathroom though. LOL
