Airbnb taking a stand.

This is interesting. It’s a good idea but it’s also scary, because it shows there is a true threat here. Being reported by various outlets and the company came out with its own statement:


Airbnb will cancel all reservations in the nation's capital for the week of inauguration, the company says.

JUST IN: Airbnb will cancel reservations in DC area during inauguration week.

"We have identified numerous individuals who are either associated with known hate groups or otherwise involved in the criminal activity at the Capitol ... they have been banned from Airbnb’s platform"


Editing to add that I hope corporate responsibility and being pro-active is something that they all can stick with during these dark days ahead of us.

It's probably more about lawsuits and bad press, but the ends justify the means sometimes. If this stops people from staying in D.C. just to cause violence, then it's a good thing.
