Very cool
just sent article to my neighbor who’s been trying to build on a piece of property for years but the prices are astronomical to build new. Maybe this will give them some hope of actually doing it!

That's really interesting. If I read that correctly, the interior walls are concrete too? That's seems difficult to work with for decor (painting, hanging things, etc.)

They put it in a weird spot. Definitely not a "showcase" plot of land, considering it's the first 3d printed house....

My guess is they picked the location bc the land is cheap and the low cost is meant to be part of the appeal. I think they already did a show house at their business location. I guess this is meant to be the first to actually sell and be lived in so an obscure location could be good. Or it's all just to get publicity? Part of this reads as if it's not actually built yet so who knows if it will truly get built, sold, and lived in.

I thought the pictures looked weird and fake. It sounded like they just showed the demo house instead of the actual house. Weird.

yes, it is weird. They word it as if they are selling it pre-build ( which happens in new developments) and there is a different already built show house in Calverton that they used for the open house, but then they said the Riverhead house has a CO. Chat Icon

The house is being built in Riverhead. It's not built yet. The model house is in Calverton

That's what I understood from the article, but the article made it sound like the house in Riverhead had a certificate of occupancy and that was a big deal, but doesn't the house have to be built first? I guess they meant the one in Calverton did, even though it is not meant as a residence, but it was a test case so they know that they will be able to get it for the one in Riverhead?
