Hmmm we never had temp checks. The only time they temp checked the kids were if the parent didn't fill out he health survey that morning. They told us they are removing the plexi glass and moving kids 3 feet apart etc By next year, who knows.

Our school stopped taking Temps in March. Not one positive case came from taking them every morning for 8 months so they stopped (district wide). I know the superintendent is considering masks optional for next year, so we'll see.
Wow! That’s pretty amazing! I’m sure some parents/kids will be happy for this. This is not in NY right?
No, not NY. I am not sure what we will do yet if they are optional, but I am very happy that it is being considered an option to let people decide for themselves.
Couldn’t agree more.

Our district. Only does Masks no shields. Got rid of the temp checks a few months ago. I believe they will have more kids in classes come Fall too.

I honestly don’t think they will do away with masks this coming year unless kids are vaccinated which I don’t see happening right away. I’m hoping all kids can return full time

We are removing the barriers from the desks but that is really the only change. We never took temperatures in school unless you didn't fill out the health form.
We will be staying 6 feet apart until the quarantining guidelines change. They still say within 6 feet so we don't want to start quarantining classes, which we did not have to do all year.
We have been full time all grades since September and that will still be the case. We are still offering the remote option too for those who need.

My children's school has never had desk shields- principal doesn't believe they really do anything and I have to agree. Masks and temp checks still a thing, as well as 6 feet apart. Going down to 3 feet in september, not sure about masks yet.

Still doing temp checks and wearing masks. Now they have to be at least 3 feet apart. High risk sports do NOT need to be tested anymore. Not sure what the plan is for next year. There really is NO reason for kids to stay virtual anymore.

Thats what I thought they meant by temp checks - we still have to take their temps and fill out the screening form, the school only checks temps of those who don't fill the form out.
They just changed the system because it was taking them too long to figure out who filled the form out and they weren't getting to the kids who weren't screened until about 2 hours into school.

Yeah I was going to say- I can't imagine schools doing temp checks on every child who walks through the door each morning.

My sons school physically takes temps before the kids enter. I don’t even bother doing it at home and just fill out the questionnaire.
The biggest and only change that happens is he goes full time now. They still wear masks and have to put the plexiglass when they eat lunch at their desks.

My school does. Every. single. child. It makes arrival so much longer and chaotic. I hate it.
