Sealing patio pavers

We are having someone come to power washing and resand our pavers. One guy said he would seal and another told us he doesn't bother since it wears off fairly quickly. Has anyone sealed theirs. And how long did it last? Is it worth the additional expense?

Sealing patio pavers

We just put in polymeric sand as it is supposed to fill in the cracks and stabilize the pavers (and not allow in weeds). We did not seal as we were also told it wears off pretty quickly. After the powerwash they look great anyway!

Thank you! This is exactly what the cheaper quote guy said. After a few months it wears away so he doesn't even bother to offer it.

I also have polymeric sand and did not seal. It has been 6 years and it has been fine. Our installer also told us not to seal. Said it was expensive and you have to keep doing it. Sometimes it may get discolored, (probably mold from near the sprinklers) I use Wet and Forget. Last year I bought the kind that attaches to the garden house and it works great. It is on sale now at Costco. But I didn't need to do that until after a couple of years.
