If you have gone to a therapist, how did you find one?
Someone that was recommended to me I really wanted to see is not taking new patients. I am looking online, but so hard to find someone off of just a name or some just have a short paragraph describing them. Most I find do not take insurance, so if I have to pay more than a copay , I don't want to just go to anyone. How did you find your's? My main issue is grief but other things surrounding it.

Honestly I would go via your health insurance website and search for those who take your insurance in your area... then maybe you can cross check their name on like a health grades or other similar website for therapists to get some idea of what others are saying about them. But I feel like a therapist is a personal thing so you may have to try them out for a few sessions to see if you are a fit

Thank you. I am always big with online reviews, but I find there are not many reviews about therapists. I am finding it hard to make a decision of where to go. I found a couple that stood out to me, but they do not take insurance. Even with out of network, it is going to be $$.

If you can find some that take your insurance I'd at least give them a try rather than paying out of pocket. Like I said, a therapist that I might love you might hate and vice versa- it's really a personal type fit so if you can avoid having to pay out of pocket at first I'd go that route

I picked one off my insurance list, didn’t like her so I found one through a coworker. She didn’t take my insurance but worked with me on costs.
I found one through my sons school for him. We also had to work with the practice to find the right fit for him.
A good therapist is like finding that favorite pair of jeans. You will have to try a bunch on to get the right fit!

We found my daughters through Alma. It's a great site.

Try Psychology Today and cross reference with your insurance. Reviews for therapists are hard I think because everyone gels with someone differently.
