Moderna says its COVID-19 shot 93% effective six months after second dose

Aug 5 (Reuters) - Moderna Inc (MRNA.O) said on Thursday its COVID-19 shot was about 93% effective through six months after the second dose, showing hardly any change from the 94% efficacy reported in its original clinical trial.
However, it said it still expects booster shots to be necessary ahead of the winter season as antibody levels are expected to wane. It and rival Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) and BioNTech SE (22UAy.DE) have been advocating a third shot to maintain a high level of protection against COVID-19.

Thanks for sharing. I also have Moderna.
I think I’m the only one who received Moderna from all the people I discussed it with. Most did Pfizer. Have you found the same?

I got Moderna. DW, DD, and DS got Pfizer.

There are more Pfizer than Moderna, but they are relatively close.
194 million Pfizer vs 139 million Moderna shots.

Great news!!
I did Pfizer myself mainly because I read most post-COVID people had a lesser reaction to the shots.

I know a couple of other Moderna people, but the vast majority of people I know, including DH, got Pfizer. I thinkkkk a lot of the bigger sites, like Jones Beach and Aqueduct, carried Pfizer, so I wonder if that is a possible reason why, or at least one factor.

That’s great, as my mother in law is almost at the 6 month mark with moderna and we have been wondering this very thing now that cold and flu season is around the corner.
