Best prices on produce?
Which store do you think has the best selection of produce at the best prices? My Stop and Shop bill is killing me.

Best prices on produce?
Lidl or Aldi. Cue the comments, but my food bill has gone down considerably.

Yes. This is basically all I shop. I sometimes get HelloFresh boxes as well.

Re: Best prices on produce?
Meat Farms for selection and price. They have SO much produce, things you never even heard of. And can't beat the prices
Lidl for price
I wont' buy stop and shop produce anymore. not only is it ridiculously expensive, it is horrible horrible quality.

DH went to Lidl yesterday and got a TON of stuff for $46. That same haul would have been over $100 at Stop and Shop And it's quality. He got a ton of grass fed beef, he got uncured kielbasa that he uses in a recipe etc It's good stuff, not low quality

I really like the store and they have lots of great items - and even more that I'm saving so much. I have young kids - I can't be spending $6 each on a box of cereal at S&S. One week I didn't do my shopping at Lidl and went to S&S and it was easily triple the $$$.

Cereal is the cheapest at Walmart. I wish we had a Super Walmart close as then I could get all my groceries in one place.

Best prices on produce?
I have a super walmart 10 mins away and I still choose aldi which is about twice the distance. I feel like you have to be careful with produce, as sometimes I find it spoils quickly. It doesnt last long in my house so its not a huge problem for me. I do have to go to main stream grocery stores for a few items, but 95% of my shopping is aldi.

I love Aldi. I get so much stuff reasonably priced. That's my go to for the snacks for the kids. I just don't find they always have the selection of produce.

I don’t have an Aldi (or a Walmart) near me, but this is how I am, too. I rarely go to stop and shop, I buy the majority of my groceries at Trader Joe’s and North Shore Farms.

I haven't been to NSF in a while but I remember it being on the pricey side. I used to love that store so maybe I'll take a ride to revisit.

Their stuff on a whole is a little overpriced but I find their produce to be pretty reasonable and good quality. I also love their breads and croissants.

Best prices on produce?
I have to laugh at this because on my local community Facebook page people are literally aghast that they had the nerve to put a LIDL in our town lol. Anyway I love shopping there, it’s cheap, and the place is never crowded. I definitely prefer Aldi over LIDL but it’s further away from me whereas LIDL is a 5 min car ride…

Is this the new one in Yaphank? I’ve been wanting to check it out since there’s no other Super Wal Mart in Suffolk but it’s a bit of a ride just for groceries….

Really? I find Lidl to be kinda upscale in terms of the products they carry. Lots of organic, grass fed meat etc

Best prices on produce?
There are zero Walmarts lidles or ALDIs near me so I go to North Shore Farms too. Their bread and speciality items are ridiculous too. I used to go to shoprite which I find to have great selection and prices but it's no longer convenient with my new schedule S

Best prices on produce?
I find S&S to be pricey.
We have a small veg market in our area that we use for milk, eggs and produce. Everything else we do ShopRite, Costco, BJs or Lidl if I have extra time.

I think people get upset because you have to pay a refundable quarter to use the cart and no one packs your bags there. It’s like that everywhere here, so why not pick the cheaper option?
I like Lidl more than Aldi. They have clothes that are pretty good as well.
I check the weekly specials because they have “special” weeks here. This week like was Spanish week, so I got some nice Chorizo and Flan. Last week it was French week, so I got some great French soap. American week is always fun, but laughable. They have potato skins in the freezer section and good American ice cream. Ben and Jerry’s is 6 a pint and Lidl brand is like ~2.
However, I will say that you have to go in early for the best produce. I went at 5 pm and the produce was a bit empty. They get it in fresh every day I guess.
I am not so crazy about some meat they have, though. I like the fish and pork. I like their special line of steaks, but I am not crazy about their chicken. I really need to marinate it when I make it.
Lidl is a bit of a cult here. They have a clothing line with socks, leggings, sweatshirts, etc. with their logo on it. This was a recent ugly Xmas sweater:
I actually wanted to buy it for my neighbour because we are both Lidl fans, lol.

Re: Best prices on produce?
Just came back from shopping and got a deal of the week $2 for 7 apples but the price of milk, at Walmart, which is usually the cheapest was $5 a gallon.

Best prices on produce?
Aldi has really cheap produce, I'm always blown away at how little everything costs in there. I can't get everything I need there though, and I find it to be inconvenient since it's near the mall. But, I paid $2.04 for a gallon of skim milk the other day, and my son drinks a ton of milk. The grocery store near my house is like $5 for a gallon of milk, which is insane.

Yes! I havent been in a few weeks, but the shelves were definitely bare in a few spots. The store is SO big that I think they are having a hard time getting stuff in to fill it.
