Would you go to cabo San Lucas Mexico now?
I have my anniversary coming up and want to go somewhere we havent been. I want a beach vacation vs a sight seeing running around trip. Was going to go back to Hawaii but not up to the long flight. I am nervous about going to Mexico. Not sure if this area is the safest? Going back and forth about going. Anyone gone to Mexico recently?

Would you go to cabo San Lucas Mexico now?
If you are looking for an actual beach vaca, I wouldn’t suggest Cabo. The beaches aren’t swimmable - the water is rough. There are beautiful resorts though and the area is beautiful.

We went to Mexico in Feb. We go to Cancun. We go every year.
I have to say I felt more safe down there than up here. They are so clean and sanitizer everything. We made sure when we did excursions it was in a group, and from reputable companies.
I LOVE everything about Mexico, the people, the food, the culture. I have never been to Cabo, so I cant comment on that.

We went to Cabo in April. Cabo is very safe. Beaches are not generally swimmable but it was beautiful regardless. San Jose is great to walk around and there are great restaurants. Cabo San Lucas is more of a party scene. I don't really ever need to go back there again but I would definitely do A resort in cabo again.

Have you considered Bermuda? I am actually in Bermuda now and it's probably my favorite place and so easy from NY. We also absolutely loved Costa Rica.

This exactly - Cancun in February felt totally safe with my three kids under 10. Meanwhile, last week in NYC walking up from Penn to 42nd Street - police pulled 6 guns on someone.....7:30 in the morning with all the commuters standing around. Shook me up.
Just don't be dumb. Stay away from the drugs and don't get pass out drunk and I think it will be totally fine.

If you are looking for beautiful swimmable beaches, have you been to Barbados? We loved it there too.

I've been to Bermuda twice. Love it there. We want to try something different. We found the nights too quiet and Horseshoe Bay got very crowded when cruises were in. Where are you staying? I did at first look into going back there.

We stayed at a place in San Jose for a couple of nights. The name of it is escaping me but it was a cheesey all inclusive and I am not sure I would recommend it. There were much better places in San Jose. We loved San Jose - it had great restaurants and a really cool artsy vibe.
Then we went to Grand Solmar Rancho San Lucas. I loved it there - it was beautiful. The resort is still under a lot of construction but that did not detract from our experience. It was about 20 minutes north of downtown Cabo. They have a sister hotel Grand Solmar Land's End which is supposed to be great too. That is in downtown cabo but kind of off to the side so I don't think it's the crazy party scene that downtown Cabo is.

We are at Rosewood Tucker's Point. It's amazing here. We've spent a lot of time here and just love it. It is definitely on the quiet side though!

I love Cabo. Most resorts have great pools so you don't need to swim in the ocean.

In Cabo we stayed at the Riu Palace which was very nice. No complaints at all. I was between there and the Me. I don't remember why we chose Riu.
As for Barbados, we stayed at the O2 Beach Resort. It was a beautiful, small boutique hotel. We could walk to town which I liked. There are other hotels that had bigger beaches though. There is a nice Hilton on Carlisle Bay. Carlisle Bay is gorgeous water. There are really nice, pricey resorts in Payne Bay...Sandy Lane, The Sandpiper and there's a Fairmont and other upscale hotels. There is also a Sandals there if you are into that. I don't think you need an all inclusive there. There are a lot of amazing restaurants and the nightlife is good.

We had an amazing time in Cabo every time we went. Riu Palace bans spring breakers. They permit them at specific Riu properties.

Check out the viceroy in san jose del cabo.
