Do you love your job? What do you do?
I have worked in the same industry for 27 years and I am just done with it (business/finance). It's not because of my employer, it would be the same work any place I went. I know the job market is hard right now so I am not going to do anything drastic, but would love to think about where I could go and be happier.
I know everyone has bad days, but if you really love what you do for work, can you share what industry it is in? Thanks!

Re: Do you love your job? What do you do?
I love my job. I am a language teacher for the military and civil servants. I’m currently in the military area and not the civil servant area.
It’s tons of fun, and I finish at 12 pm most days. I learn something new every day and the students can really be great. Since I am technically a civil servant, I get all the perks of that as well. There are, of course, some downsides, but I enjoy it for the most part.

I work with dogs!
I spent 24 years as a graphic designer in different roles. From production to management. But always in print advertisement. I stayed with it because it came easy to me. But I never truly enjoyed it unless I was doing a personal project with photos at home.
During that time my husband had his business. Pet shop with grooming and boarding. I would work there from time to time but after covid, my permanent work position was no more and I went to work with him FT because we were short staffed. 3 years later I’m still there FT. Some days are stressful (mostly due to the humans and staff) but spending the day loving on pets is so comforting ! I have a sweet spot for the senior dogs that come in. That we’ve known their entire lives. I cry when they are gone and remember them with their families.
It’s a heart warming job most days. So I’m happy for the change. Considering going to grooming school so I can join the staff in that way as well. But for now, I’m on the management side of things and get to cuddle between appts lol

This sounds delightful.
I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I am so over my career. I am an attorney and it is such a thankless, stressful, time suck of a job. I have been trying to figure out how I can make my salary working at Home Goods because I think I would get such joy working there but I'm sure the salary is nowhere near what I earn. Whomp whomp
