Doctor rec needed: neurologist with specialization in Alzheimer’s
I’ve been in NY for a while visiting family and helping take care of my mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s this year. She has been with one doctor for about 1 1/2 years. Today he announced that he was retiring and all future appointments are cancelled. No advance notice, nothing. Just a text message.
Besides being absolutely annoyed at this situation, she had an appointment next week. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Long Island Alzheimer and dementia center, they have several locations, I had a friend who was a social worker there but she changed jobs. Or I'd refer you. Sorry to hear about your mom. find support for yourself too

Thank you! We wound up finding a neurologist last minute, but thanks for the recommendation about the center. That could be a great help.
It’s still in the early stages, I think stage 4.
