I'm out again...

AF came this morning (CD 25)....

When do you say I need more help....I have been off BC since last October and actively trying since May and started using OPK's three months ago...I'm 36 and even though it took me a long time to decide to have a baby and I'm still not 100% sure, this is really frustrating.

My period is really regular 25 to 28 days..so I know its not that and I feel myself ovulating. I saw the doctor a few weeks ago and she said I would have to wait a year from May for them to do anything, but I feel likes it been a year already....

I think I am waiting until the new year and then demanding some help or testing or whatever the next step is...

I think once you have been using OPK for 6 months and nothing happens then they will see you.

They will see you whenever it depends how forceful you are. At 36 I would say 6 mos is enough trying-now its time to test your ovarian function get your DH a sperm analysis and talk to your Dr. If your Dr won't do it find another one. Take charge of your own fertility!

Maybe try NOT trying and just relaxing...my mother tried for 2 years to have a baby...she charted and everything [I ihad no idea what that grid paper was about for YEARS to come] and finally, my parents gave up...after 2 years. Guess what? 11 months later, I had a baby sister. Sometimes women/couples put so much emphasis into conception that they stress themselves out and nothing happens. Really try letting go and see if maybe a miracle happens on its own without planning and methodical BDing.

Over 35, it is recommended that you and your partner get checked out after 6 months. Under 35, it's a year.

I'm technically over 6 months now (and I'm 39), so DH and I will both get checked out soon to see if anything is wrong.
